I'm Melisa and the purpose of this blog was to share my week in Kenner, Louisiana with you (April 6-12, 2008). A team from our church - Live Oak Vineyard - was working with other volunteers from around the country to help with the relief efforts around New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina.

Packing and getting ready

Boy I’ve had a busy day! Scott and I ran errands all over the place, I’ve done our taxes, and packed for my trip to New Orleans. I’m flying out tomorrow with a group of my friends from the Live Oak Vineyard to join hundreds of other volunteers at the Kenner Vineyard in Kenner, LA to help with clean up, construction, or whatever else we can do to help families recover from Katrina.

I’ll be blogging and posting what I can, whenever I can get a connection in Kenner. I’ll report back in soon!
